Junior Tennis News:
Sebastian Koning was a finalist in Vancouver, at the Tennis BC 2012 Icebreaker Classic
Boys U18 Singles Challenger tournament.
He was defeated in the final vs Nanaimo's Conrad Alscher 6-3; 6-2

On Friday, May 13th Global Fitness Centre hosted an EPIC event and supported the Bellyfit Community.
Alice Bracegirdle, DJ Rowan, Tamara Logan and JGirl teamed up to offer a ‘live’, extra long Bellyfit class.
Global Fitness also hosted the teacher training for two days following the live event. It was great to bring the community together in health, fitness, wellness and education! |

What a successful weekend with the first every Junior Squash Development camp in the Okanagan. We had 22 kids from all over the Okanagan and BC!!! Putting the kids through all kinds of games to improve their hand-eye co-ordination,agility, and most of all making sure they have fun!! The KSS/Kelowna Junior Racquetball Team competed in the BC Junior Provincial Championships held in Burnaby this past month.
The team was made of up 6 KSS students - Sam Thompson;Tanner Soetaert; Kenneth Gauthier; Stefanie Duran; Teghan Braun; Justin McLean and two middle schools students (Cody Broten from Dr. Knox and Trevor Jones from CNB)
The students showed a wonderful attitude and represented KSS and SD 23 in a wonderful way. (Each one of our team members won at least one medal in the tournament.)
We came away with:
1 Gold medal -
Intermediate 1 Doubles (Steffanie Duran partnered with student from Vancouver)
2 Silver Medals -
Intermediate 1 Doubles (Trevor Jones/Cody Broten)
Girls under 18 - Stefanie Duran
2 Bronze Medals -
Intermediate 2 Doubles (Justin McLean partnered with student from Vancouver)
Junior Singles intermediate - Trevor Jones.
4 4th place medals -
Sam Thompson - Junior Boys Advanced singles;
SamThompson/Tanner Soertaert - Junior Doubles Advanced
Teghan Braun/Kenneth Gauthier - Intermediate 2 Doubles
Cody Broten - JuniorSingles Beginners

This year was another fabulous year, many individuals reached and even surpassed their goals. Each year we pick one person who is the final winner. This year it was tough as many participants came so close. We pick the winner by assessing many things, sportsmanship, dedication, attendance for personal training sessions, overall fitness improvement - obstacle course, daily logging, attendance to weekly challenges, attendance to charity events, giving back on face book and other social media, inspiring others, total weight loss & total inches. 2011 Winner is Fergus Smith!
